Parent Association

The purpose of the St. Rose School Parent Association is to provide hospitality,  to guide fundraising efforts, and to enrich to the school’s community spirit.  All school parents are members of the association and are cordially invited to attend monthly meetings which are usually held at 7:00 PM on the first Tuesday of the month.  Attending the meetings is a wonderful way to make new friends, get involved in school life, and provide valuable input to the school administration.  The meetings are somewhat informal and can be a lot of fun.

The Parent Association provides guidance for room parents and runs a  number events which are enjoyed by students and parents alike.  Some of these include the Back To School Barbeque, Family Bingo Nights, Catholic Schools’ Week Pancake Breakfast, Halloween Carnival, and Mission Day.

The Parent Association has two major fundraisers each year, the Annual Event, which is a dinner dance with live and silent auctions, and the Walk-a-Thon.  Through their fundraising efforts the Parent Association contributes over $75,000 to the school’s operating budget which helps to keep tuition increases to a minimum.  Over the past few years, their discretionary funds have provided new playground equipment, major upgrades to our technology program, and much more.

 Advisory Council

This group of parents use their expertise to advise the school administration in the following areas:  Catholic Identity, Finance, Development, Buildings and Facilities, and New Programs.  They are responsible for approving the school’s annual budget and tuition schedule and for developing and maintaining the strategic plan.

Some council members are appointed by the pastor and principal and some are elected by the parent body.  The meetings are usually held at 7:00 PM on the third Tuesday of each month.  They are open to all St. Rose parents and time is set aside at the beginning of each meeting for any parents who wish to address the council.

Dads’ Club

The Dads’ Club encourages fathers to get involved with their children’s education while providing service and support to the school. It also serves as a vehicle for dads to have fun and network with each other.  Monthly dinner meetings are very casual and are well-known for their delicious cuisine.

Service to the school includes a variety of activities such as cooking at special school functions, enhancing our buildings and grounds, subsidizing school activities.  All dads, grandfathers, and alumni dads are welcome.  Newcomers get a free meal during their first meeting.

Student Council

St. Rose has a very active Student Council.  Its mission is to promote school spirit and service to others.  The council is made up of nine officers and ten classroom representatives.  The Student Council provides monthly fun days such as  Pajama Day, Hawaii Day, Halloween, and Crazy Hat Day.  They are also responsible for a number of service projects such as the Thanksgiving Food Drive and Dollar Free Dress Days to support specific charities.  Over the years their fundraising efforts have provided a number of enhancements to the school such as classroom computers, TV’s, DVD players, and sports equipment.
