Dear Prospective Parent,
Thank you for your interest in St.Rose School. If you decide to join our community, I promise that our faculty and staff will do their very best to see that your children are happy, successful, and well-prepared for high school.
St. Rose is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Western Catholic Education Association. Our teachers are experienced, credentialed professionals. Their commitment to developing the whole child allows for strong curriculum continuity along with academic and emotional support for each learner. Our standardized test scores are well above average. In addition to a well-rounded curriculum that includes reading, math, English, spelling, social studies, science, P.E., art, music and Spanish, students are also instructed in the tenets of the Catholic faith. Catholic/Christian morality permeates our school day and is best summarized in the first line of our school’s philosophy which states that “God loves each of us and our loving response to God leads to a more fulfilling life.” Students attend Mass at school once a month.
Although our class size is large, we are quite successful in meeting the needs of our students. The credentialed teacher to student ratio is 1:22. There are teacher aides in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. The primary grades also utilize parent help. In Grades Four through Eight, an extra math teacher collaborates with the regular math teachers to increase the differentiated instruction. There are also two Literature teachers who collaborate for junior high reading instruction. We have a specialized science teacher and lab. Our staff includes a full-time, licensed counselor in addition to a learning resource teacher, who help to ensure that the diverse needs of each child are met.
The St. Rose School Media Center includes a library and computer lab equipped with high speed wireless Internet. Smartboards in the classrooms allow for interactive and computer assisted instruction. Classrooms are also equipped with Front Row Seat systems so that students are better able to focus on auditory instruction. Our school’s multipurpose building houses a gym, tutorial center, stage, and kitchen. A hot lunch is served five days a week.
St. Rose offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including after school sports, drama, instrumental band, Chess Club, and Spanish. The YMCA runs our extended daycare program that is open until 6:00 PM each evening. We have an active student council that provides service to the school and community and holds fun days once a month for the students.
St. Rose students learn in the midst of a Catholic faith community where faculty, staff, students and parents know and care for each other. We insist that our students use good manners and treat each other with kindness and respect. At St. Rose, everybody knows your name and children do not “slip through the cracks”.
If you would like to observe our program first hand, I invite you to accompany me on a school tour. Tours take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00 AM or by appointment. Please call us if you would like to take a tour.
Thank you for your interest in St. Rose School.
